Meets Jan 14 - March 18 2027
w/Nolan Bryan

Join this Camp where we go deep into the work of Nina Simone

Nina Simone was an American composer, concert pianist, singer, songwriter, and civil rights activist. Simone's bearing and stage presence earned her the title the High Priestess of Soul. Her music spanned styles including classical, folk, gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, and pop.

After making her debut with Little Girl Blue in 1958, she went on to record more than 40 albums up to 1974. She released her first and biggest hit single in the United States in 1959 with "I Loves You, Porgy", which peaked inside the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Please check out SONGS she wrote or was known for:

"Feeling Good" an uplifting, soaring anthem of personal liberation from the album I Put a Spell on You.
"Mississippi Goddam"
"I Put a Spell on You"
"Sinnerman"
"To Be Young, Gifted and Black"
"Four Women"
"My Baby Just Cares for Me"
"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" a moody, slow-burning lament that later inspired numerous rock covers.
